Street Outreach

All our community services operate from a trauma informed framework that caters to the diverse needs of marginalized communities embracing the principals of empower, integrity and self advocacy. We strive to challenge heteronormative, CIS normative, patriarchal, classist, racist and xenophobic ideologies that permeates our society and within our own organization in the hope of facilitating a safe space for all.

If you are looking to join our team as a street outreach volunteer please connect with us!

In collaboration with the Wesley First Place Cafe, we deliver over 200 meals a week to marginalized and vulnerable communities. We offer compassion, kindness, and care along with access to resources and assistance to access services. We also hand out Personal Protective Equipment including masks, and hand sanitizer to help our folk living rough to combat COVID-19.

First Aid

Harm Reduction

We distribute harm reduction supplies to folks using substances across Hamilton. We facilitate needle exchanges, pick up stray needles, give folk new needles, pipes, screens, condoms, sunscreen, and access to wound care. We assist in education throughout Canada about the value of harm reduction.

Cell phones are one of the things that are seen as a privilege but are really a survival item especially during COVID-19. Grenfell has partnered with the Care Through Tech initiative which is a used technology drive hoping to supply technology to vulnerable populations, such as people living in isolation centers, sheltered homes, & subsidized housing. This less fortunate group generally does not have adequate access to technology; as the world becomes more dependent on online services, these people cannot be forgotten.
